National Municipal Hackathon Announced by the Tunisian National Federation of Municipalities
The Tunisian National Federation of Municipalities (FNCT) announced on Sunday the organization of a national municipal hackathon under the slogan "50 years, 50 innovations at the service of municipalities." Organized on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the FNCT, this event constitutes an open space for creativity, renewal, and the development of technological solutions dedicated to local affairs management in Tunisia, according to a statement published on the FNCT's official page.
Objective and Target Audience
Dedicated to students from Tunisian universities, the hackathon aims to promote innovation and digital transformation within municipalities, mobilize the energy of young people, academic skills, and technical expertise, and collectively design concrete and sustainable solutions to the real challenges faced by local communities, while integrating sustainable development goals and a gender approach.
Participation and Team Formation
Interested students are invited to form their teams and encourage their friends to register to take part in this innovative adventure. This event will bring together students, experts, and representatives of municipalities who will work in multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative, applicable, and evolving project prototypes.
Cooperation and Governance
According to the FNCT, this initiative promotes cooperation between municipalities and universities, supports local governance, and values pioneering initiatives contributing to territorial development and the improvement of municipal services.
Priority Areas
The proposed projects will focus on several priority areas, including:

- Enhancement of heritage, culture, and the role of young people
Competition Format
The hackathon will take place in the form of 24-hour regional competitions, leading to a national final that will bring together the most innovative projects. Participants will present their solutions to a multidisciplinary jury, while benefiting from support and national visibility.
Vision and Development
This event reflects the FNCT's vision of making innovation a central lever for municipal development, strengthening the openness of municipalities to their scientific and technological environment, and promoting sustainable, efficient, and citizen-centered local development models, according to the statement.
