Minister of Equipment and Housing Announces 80 Million‑Dinar Funding for Flood Damage Repairs

Tunis, 12 February 2026 – During a session of the National Council of Regions and Districts, Minister of Equipment and Housing Slah Zouari disclosed that 80 million Tunisian dinars have been earmarked to repair the damage caused by the recent floods.

Funding Coordination

The allocation was mobilised in close coordination with the Presidency of the Government and the Ministry of Finance to enable swift interventions in the affected areas.

Scope of the Damage

According to the minister, the floods have damaged numerous roads, rural tracks, and several protective structures. The newly‑approved budget will cover all necessary works to restore the impacted infrastructure.

Implementation Timeline

The ministry has already initiated the selection procedures for the companies that will carry out the reconstruction. Work on the sites is expected to begin within the next few weeks.
