Lawyer Najet Hedrich Indicates Legal Team's Next Steps for Global Resilience Flotilla

Lawyer Najet Hedrich stated that the legal team of the Global Resilience Flotilla, comprising 45 volunteer Tunisian lawyers, will undertake the final legal steps before the flotilla's departure from Tunis to Gaza. In a statement to the Tunis-Afrique-Presse (TAP) agency yesterday, Lawyer Hedrich specified that these steps involve registering the names of all activists on board each ship, separately, and having them sign a legal power of attorney mentioning the name and number of the ship. She added that an official list of lawyers who are members of the legal team has been submitted to the relevant parties. This power of attorney has also been transmitted to the "Adalah" (Justice) organization, which brings together lawyers from the occupied Palestinian territories of 1948 and is supervised by Lawyer Souhad Bishara. The lawyer emphasized that these legal procedures aim to protect all activists on board the ships and ensure their representation by the legal team in Palestine, in case the flotilla is intercepted and its participants are transferred to Ramla prison. She stressed the need to strictly adhere to these procedures, given the large number of participants and the risk that the Israeli occupation may isolate an activist who has not correctly signed the power of attorney. Lawyer Hedrich further specified that once the flotilla departs, the legal team's follow-up will concern only Tunisian activists, as each participating country has formed its own legal team to monitor the situation of its activists.
