Majdi M'chafar Announces Partnership with Waste Recycling Unit
Majdi M'chafar, the president of the Chamber of Cafes in Mahdia, announced on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, the signing of a partnership agreement with a waste recycling unit in the governorate of Sidi Bouzid. This is the first initiative of its kind in Tunisia.
During his appearance on the show "Al-Shari' Al-Tounsi" (The Tunisian Street), M'chafar specified that this unit will be responsible for recycling coffee waste and eggshells from cafes in Mahdia. He also emphasized that these residues could be used for fertilization and charcoal production.
He added that cafes joining this agreement will be considered "model cafes" and called on all cafes in the country to engage in this pioneering environmental initiative.
