Digital Justice: Gabès Regional Court Holds Fully Digital Hearing
The regional court of first instance in Gabès, under the administrative tribunal, held a fully digital hearing on Thursday, handling cases exclusively in electronic format, without using paper, according to a statement released on Friday.
Introduction of Electronic System
This initiative is part of the gradual deployment of an integrated electronic system within the administrative tribunal, which was launched in Gabès on December 29, 2025, after the completion of its design and development phase. The platform allows for the complete digitization of the judicial process in a secure environment, covering cases in first instance, summary proceedings, requests for stay of execution, and requests for judicial assistance.
Future Developments
In a future stage, litigants, lawyers, and public administrations under the jurisdiction of Gabès will be able to create secure personal accounts to submit their requests, exchange memoranda electronically, and remotely track the progress of their cases.
Generalization of the Experience
The administrative tribunal aims to generalize this experience to other regional and central chambers as soon as possible, with the goal of strengthening access to justice, accelerating procedures, and improving transparency.
