National Guard Denies Drone Involvement in Ship Fire
The General Directorate of the National Guard formally denied on Tuesday any involvement of a drone in the fire that broke out on a ship from the Soumoud fleet, docked at the port of Sidi Bou Saïd and arriving from Spain, describing these allegations as "completely unfounded".
According to the initial elements of the investigation, the fire was caused by the accidental ignition of a life jacket, likely in contact with a lighter or a cigarette butt. No signs of malicious acts, attacks, or external targeting were found at the scene.
According to a statement, the National Guard reiterated its call to citizens to rely only on information from official sources and to be wary of rumors.
