Financial Corruption Trial: Lazhar Sta Appears in Court
Yesterday, security units presented businessman Lazhar Sta to the specialized criminal chamber for examining financial corruption cases at the Court of First Instance in Tunis, as part of his trial for a financial and administrative corruption dossier. Belhassen Trabelsi, the brother-in-law of former President Ben Ali, is being tried in absentia.
The Chamber decided to postpone the trial in response to a request from Belhassen Trabelsi's lawyer.
It is worth noting that Lazhar Sta is appearing in this case in a state of freedom, but he is currently being held in connection with another financial corruption case related to the Ciments de Carthage company, for which he was sentenced in absentia to 6 years in prison and has appealed the judgment.
