Controversy Erupts Over Surveillance Footage of Robbery in Tunisia

A disturbing image captured from a surveillance camera showing a robbery has sparked a heated debate among Tunisian internet users. The news spread like wildfire on social media, and the controversy has only intensified since the image shows the victim was a woman and appears to depict a dog trying to come to her aid.

Tunisians have been left wondering about the fate of the victim, the circumstances surrounding the crime, and the identity of the robbers. It was in this context that security expert Ali Zaremdini intervened on Thursday, February 12, 2026, on Jawhara Fm to reveal shocking details about the robbery.

In fact, while indicating that the exact nationality of the perpetrators has not been officially confirmed, Mr. Zaremdini confirmed that the incident took place in La Soukra, in the governorate of Ariana. The perpetrators, he suggested, are a group of irregular migrants. He sounded the alarm, estimating that this act cannot be interpreted as an isolated incident, adding that "what the video sequence does not show is much more serious than what the shared image showed."

The expert stated that it is a fully structured and organized criminal group with complete constituent elements. He affirmed that the criminality among these individuals is much deeper than what the shocking scene related in the video reveals.

The speaker emphasized that this incident requires more firmness and vigilance, as "it signals a deliberate attack on national security and internal stability, including repercussions on societal, economic, and political security."

While noting that the modus operandi of the aggression denotes a very hostile attitude, Mr. Zeramdini called on the concerned authorities, first and foremost the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to act with as much speed as firmness, citing as an example the strict measures adopted on this file by several Western countries, such as France and the United States.

It is worth noting that the video in question shows two individuals, presumed to be irregular migrants from sub-Saharan Africa, committing a daylight robbery with a knife against a passerby on a public road. They violently snatched her bag and beat her before throwing her to the ground, causing her serious physical and psychological trauma.
