Decision and Grounds for Appeal
During his appearance on the Recap Sport programme on Friday, attorney Ali Abbas confirmed that FIFA’s decision to suspend Youcef Belaïli from all sporting activities for one year is now official. He added that the defense committee is awaiting the detailed reasoning (the “motifs détaillés”) that will accompany the verdict before initiating any appeal, emphasizing that an appeal remains a viable option.
Alleged Document Forgery
Abbas explained that the case centers on documents that French club AC Ajaccio has reported as forged. He reminded listeners that FIFA maintains a zero‑tolerance policy toward fraud and falsification. According to FIFA’s disciplinary guidelines, sanctions for such offenses typically range from six matches of suspension up to a full year of prohibition from all football‑related activities.
