Syrian Border Authority Closes Lebanon Crossing for Outbound Travelers
The General Authority for Land and Maritime Passages in Syria announced on Wednesday that the border post with Lebanon is being closed to outbound travelers due to the risk of Israeli bombardments targeting the area, according to an official statement.
A media officer at the Jdeidet Yabous border post clarified that the crossing will remain exceptionally open only for inbound traffic as long as the flow of Syrians coming from Lebanon continues.
Mazen Alloush, Director of Relations at the General Authority of Passages and Customs, explained that the suspension of traveler movements through the Jdeidet Yabous post was triggered after an alert ordered an evacuation because of the possibility of Israeli strikes on the region.
