Tunisian Farmers' Union President Addresses Butter Shortage
The President of the Tunisian Farmers' Union, Dhaoui Midani, stated on Monday that "the butter shortage is caused by a deficit in milk production, even though milk is available on the markets," emphasizing that "this decline is due to a decrease in livestock." Speaking by phone on Jawhara FM, the Union President called for "the rebuilding of livestock to avoid the current shortage of dairy products." He added that "the cattle herd is in continuous decline and that it is necessary to provide a profit margin to farmers so that they can maintain their livestock."
