Funeral Services for Legendary Singer Hani Shaker Begin
This Wednesday marked the start of the funeral services for the iconic singer Hani Shaker, who passed away last Sunday. The artist had been battling a long illness in a Parisian hospital.
The ceremony was attended by a crowd of personalities from the world of culture and media, who came to pay their final respects to the late singer. Notable attendees included singers Mustafa Amar and Iheb Taoufik, as well as actresses Najoua Fouad, Mervat Amin, and Lobloba. Other prominent figures such as Arkan Fouad, Helmy Abdel Baqy, Nadia Mostafa, journalist Mahmoud Kamel, and TV hosts Ahmed Moussa and Hala Sarhan were also present to honor his memory.
Throughout his illustrious career, Hany Shaker left an indelible mark on the history of Arabic music with a repertoire of over 600 songs and 29 albums. Some of his most iconic works include "Aly El Dehkaya," "Ya Reitni," "El Helm El Gamil," "Jalhi Ana," and "Keda Bardo Ya Amar." His smooth voice and romantic melodies earned him a unique place in the hearts of his fans across generations.
Beyond music, Shaker also made a name for himself in the film industry, starring in movies such as "Quand l'amour chante" and "Celui-ci je l'aime, celui-là je le veux." He also had a successful career in theater. As a dedicated advocate for his art, Shaker was elected president of the Syndicat des musiciens égyptiens in 2015. During his tenure, he implemented numerous reforms aimed at organizing and preserving the ethics of the Egyptian artistic scene.
