The Monetary Center of Tunisian Post Warns Against Phishing Operations Targeting Its Customers

The Tunisian Post recently issued a press release warning about phishing and fraud attempts, describing them as pure cyber‑scams aimed at stealing sensitive data from its customers.

These phishing and fraud operations target anyone who uses an electronic payment card, an electronic wallet, or electronic money (e‑dinars).

On this subject, Mr. Walid Ghzezoua, Director of the Monetary Center at the Tunisian Post, revealed on Tuesday, 24 February 2026, during an interview with the national radio, that impostors are posing as partners of the Tunisian Post in order to obtain personal information from targeted victims, seeking to capture their passwords or electronic card PIN codes.

“The Tunisian Post calls for increased vigilance and informs its clientele that it is not linked to suspicious websites that request such information. This is a hacking and phishing operation,” he noted.

He added that these fraudulent sites claim to be partners of the Post or convince Tunisians that they are offering gifts.

“Usually these schemes occur on social networks, where users are led to believe there is a contest and that the Tunisian Post is giving away prizes to participants. They are then asked to register by following a specific link received through existing social‑media pages.
During registration, the user is asked for their phone number, card number, and even all their identity and banking details. Once the user clicks the link, they fall into a trap and their personal data can be accessed,” he explained.

The spokesperson emphasized that the Post never requests such sensitive information or personal data from customers via social media or any website other than the officially confirmed sites, for example when paying a bill or a university registration fee.

“Moreover, the domain name of all official and confirmed sites ends with .tn,” he pointed out.
