Russia-Tunisia Business Mission to Strengthen Economic Partnerships

A Russian business delegation is set to visit Tunisia soon to enhance opportunities for partnership between Tunisian and Russian economic operators, announced Tatiana Sadofyeva, President of the Russia-Tunisia Business Council, on Thursday.

Sadofyeva made the statement during a Tunisia-Russia meeting between the Centre for Promotion of Exports (CEPEX) and the Russia-Tunisia Business Council, which focused on examining the prospects for development of commercial exchanges and economic partnership between Tunisia, Russia, and Eurasian countries, held at the Exporter's House.

She also expressed her organization's willingness to support CEPEX in organizing targeted business missions to Eurasian countries, mobilizing her network of institutional and business partners.

The discussions centered on opportunities for promoting Tunisian exports to the Russian market and several federal Muslim republics in Russia, including Chechnya, Dagestan, and Tatarstan, considered high-potential markets for Tunisian businesses.

They also allowed for the examination of several initiatives aimed at sustainably supporting the presence of Tunisian products in the Eurasian region, including the launch of a permanent pavilion dedicated to the exhibition of Tunisian products, particularly olive oil and dates, to serve as a platform for promotion and commercial relay towards regional markets.

Both parties emphasized the importance of upcoming economic events in Tunisia and Russia, considered opportunities to inject a new dynamic into economic and commercial cooperation.

Tunisia-Russia trade has shown a positive evolution in the first three months of 2026, reaching 13.2 million dinars, a 14.8% increase compared to the same period in 2025, according to CEPEX.

The export potential to this market is estimated at around $29 million, according to the same source.
