Tunisie Plastiques Systèmes (TPS) Confirms its Strategic Position in the Global Automotive Industry

Tunisie Plastiques Systèmes (TPS), a subsidiary of the French group Plastivaloire, has reaffirmed its strategic position in the global automotive industry. During a press visit organized on Thursday, December 18, 2025, by the TAA, GIZ, and the Ministry of Industry, General Manager Chekib Debbabi detailed the company's production and engineering capabilities, which supply essential parts to vehicles circulating throughout Europe and beyond, highlighting the excellence of Tunisian know-how in this competitive sector.

Company Overview

Founded in 2004, TPS has 27 sites worldwide, primarily in Europe, and employs 5,500 people. In Tunisia, the group has 3 sites, totaling 850 employees, including over 60 engineers and technicians, on 2,500 m². The company specializes in plastic injection, assembly and decoration, machining, and engineering, producing components for the automotive, multimedia, and aerospace industries, among others.

Production Capacity

"Each vehicle contains approximately 5 kilograms of plastic, distributed over 30,000 parts, of which TPS ensures the manufacture for 2,000 vehicles per day. Production is mainly intended for export," specified Mr. Debbabi. Chekib Debbabi also emphasized that quality remains a priority, particularly in the automotive industry where tolerance is almost zero. TPS holds all manufacturer approvals, which enables it to stand out in the market despite strong competition, especially from Asia.

Focus on Innovation and Training

On another note, he specified that the company also focuses on continuous training and engineering development, gradually transforming its factories into process development centers to meet the needs of tomorrow's vehicles and strengthen its autonomy. Chekib Debbabi insisted on the need to valorize technical professions and resolve employability issues to support the growth of the sector in Tunisia.

Contribution to the European Industry

TPS distinguishes itself by its contribution to the European industry: "There is no vehicle circulating in Europe that does not contain at least one part manufactured in Tunisia," asserted the General Manager, highlighting national pride linked to this integration into global value chains.
