On the Occasion of International Sustainability Day, Epson Launches "Epson ReCreators" Regional Sustainability Contest

Epson, a global leader in printing technologies and sustainable innovation, is celebrating International Sustainability Day on October 28th by launching the "Epson ReCreators" regional contest. This program invites students aged 7 to 10 to design and create artworks using recycled materials, including printed paper, and submit them through a dedicated microsite. The creations will be evaluated by a jury composed of Epson representatives and local art curators.

The ReCreators concept combines two fundamental notions for Epson: recycling and creating. It aims to encourage students to become not only artists but also change-makers, capable of transforming recycled materials into meaningful creations. By giving a second life to waste, participants will fully embody the spirit of the contest and its motto: Reuse – Create – Inspire.

The contest will take place simultaneously in a selection of schools in several countries: Tunisia, Morocco, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and South Africa.

The winners of the contest will receive an EcoTank printer, and their respective schools will receive a projector and official goodies from the brand ambassador, Shakira. Some creations will also be showcased on Epson's social media channels and exhibited in the company's offices across the region.

"This contest encourages students to consider recycled materials as the raw material for their imagination. Art made from recycled elements goes beyond artistic exercise: it develops responsibility and environmental awareness. Through ReCreators, we want to show them that small gestures – reusing, reinventing, recycling – can truly contribute to a better future for our planet," explains Imen Gorrab, Consumer Sales Manager (Tunisia, Algeria & Indian Ocean) at Epson.

At Epson, creativity and environmental respect are at the heart of our identity. Creativity fuels innovation that improves daily life, while our ecological commitment ensures the preservation of resources and future generations.

This initiative is part of Epson META-CWA's commitment to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and contributes specifically to:

  • SDG 4 – Quality Education, by stimulating creative learning and skill development,
  • SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production, by promoting reuse and circular economy,
  • SDG 13 – Climate Action, through awareness and behavior change.

The campaign will be supported by digital content, partnerships with schools, and a series of interviews highlighting teachers, jury members, and winners.

Beyond the contest, Epson ReCreators aims to inspire a new generation of creative and responsible minds, convinced that every idea can transform our relationship with the planet.
