The National Agency for Environmental Protection (ANPE) has begun a strategic digital transformation with the operational launch of its new information system. As Riadh Hannachi, head of the IT department, announced on Radio Nationale, the platform now enables economic operators and citizens to track the progress of their dossiers remotely, putting an end to administrative opacity.
Key Features in the First Phase
- Environmental Impact Study Evaluation – streamlined assessment and approval processes.
- Depollution Procedures – digital management of remediation actions.
- Validation of Environmental Specifications – automated verification of technical and regulatory requirements.
This modernization goes beyond a simple technical upgrade; it aims to:
- Guarantee full transparency for all stakeholders.
- Accelerate processing times for permits and approvals.
- Boost the investment climate in Tunisia by providing a reliable, predictable regulatory environment.
Future Expansions Planned
The ANPE already foresees the next wave of enhancements, which will incorporate:
- Management of fiscal incentives for environmentally‑friendly projects.
- Conciliation procedures to resolve disputes efficiently.
- Technical opinion requests to support informed decision‑making.
These additions will further cement the agency’s role as a modern, sustainable‑development‑focused institution.
