Minister of Transport Announces Significant Progress on Enfidha Deep-Water Port Project
The Minister of Transport, Rachid Amri, has announced that the Enfidha deep-water port project has reached a crucial milestone, with 90% of the necessary land having been secured for its realization.
Project Details
According to the Minister, the total cost of the project is estimated at 5 billion dinars. Preparatory work is progressing in parallel with efforts to identify funding sources, following a similar approach to the one adopted for the Sfax metro project.
Strategic Importance
This strategic port, intended to become a regional hub for maritime trade, is among the Ministry's priority projects in terms of logistics and connectivity. Its objectives include:
- Enhancing Tunisia's competitiveness
- Streamlining supply chains
- Reducing congestion at existing ports, particularly Radès

The Minister emphasized that technical studies are well advanced, and the next phase will focus on mobilizing funding and gradually launching construction work as part of the national port modernization program.
