Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy Works to Finalize Legislative Framework for Electric Mobility

The Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy is working to finalize the legislative framework for electric mobility and to encourage the manufacture of electric vehicle components, as well as the electrification of uses that constitute a locomotive for industrial investments, with the aim of improving the competitiveness of the industrial sector.

This effort to finalize the legislative framework is part of the ministry's efforts to develop the electric mobility sector, as presented during a working session held last Friday at the ministry, under the supervision of the Secretary of State for Energy Transition, Wael Chouchane, and in the presence of representatives from the Tunisian Mechatronics Pole, as well as the Director General of the Sousse Development Pole, Hichem Turki, the Director General of the National Agency for Energy Management, Nafaa Bakari, and the Director General of Manufacturing Industries, Fathi Sahlaoui, according to a statement published by the ministry on Saturday.

Through numerous initiatives, the Tunisian Mechatronics Pole seeks to expand the areas of cooperation between the various actors of industrial innovation, with the aim of creating collaboration projects for industrial renewal and anchoring the culture of innovation by supporting the rapprochement between industrialists and scientific research centers, and by launching initiatives through working teams that contribute to the development of several areas, such as electronic industries, light mobility, and semiconductors, according to the ministry.

It is worth noting that the Tunisian Mechatronics Pole brings together 75 industrial companies operating in the fields of mechanical, electrical, electronic, metal, plastic, and information technology industries.
