Energy Sector Update: Total Number of Valid Permits in 2025
The total number of valid permits in 2025 stands at 12, including 11 research permits and 1 prospecting permit, according to the National Energy Observatory's report on the energy situation. The total number of concessions is 57, with 44 in production. The state participates through the Tunisian Enterprise of Petroleum Activities (ETAP) in 34 of these production concessions and fully in three concessions.
Exploration Operations
The Observatory noted the absence of new seismic acquisition operations in 2025. However, there are four drilling operations for new development wells, namely "CRG-10 ST", "CRG-12 ST", "PDG-5", and "SHG-W1", in addition to the continuation of drilling a development well "SMGNE-13", which began in 2023.
