National Employment Agency Director Explains Reasons for Ending CIVP Contract Extensions

Today, Tuesday, September 16, 2025, Hatem Dahman, Director General of the National Agency for Employment and Independent Work, spoke about the reasons for ending the extension of Introduction to Professional Life Contracts (CIVP) as of October 1st. As a guest on the "Youm Saïd" show on National Radio, Dahman explained that an evaluation showed that a one-year internship period is sufficient to acquire the necessary skills and experience. He added that 80% of employment offices confirmed that the second year of this contract has no impact on the professional integration of job seekers. The Director of the Employment Agency emphasized that the main objective of this contract is to integrate young people, improve their employability rate, and offer them stable job opportunities. He stressed the need for state programs to align with the recent reform of the Labor Code, which aims to eliminate precarious work and limit internships to a maximum duration of six months. Therefore, the Agency can no longer continue to extend internships for a period of two years. Hatem Dahman finally specified that a job seeker can still benefit from a CIVP for a total duration of 24 months, provided that it is in several different companies. The new measure simply prohibits the extension of the contract within the same company.
