Tunisian Anti-Terrorism Court to Try Elyes Chaouachi
The specialized anti-terrorism prosecution office at the Court of Appeal in Tunis decided to refer Elyes Chaouachi to the Criminal Chamber specializing in terrorism cases, following the publication of messages and live videos on Facebook.
Charges Against Chaouachi
The charges against Chaouachi relate to the content of these videos, in which he criticized and commented on the members of the Criminal Chamber specializing in terrorism cases. This came after the chamber examined the case file of the plot against state security, in which his father, Ghazi Chaouachi, was among the accused.
Background
It is worth noting that Ghazi Chaouachi was involved in a similar case and was recently referred by the Indictment Chamber to the Criminal Chamber specializing in terrorism cases at the Court of First Instance in Tunis.
