Commerce Minister Samir Obeid announced on Wednesday, 18 February 2026, that the Ellouhoum Company will develop retail points under its brand in every region of the Republic, aiming to bring its services closer to citizens.

During a dialogue session at the Council of Regions and Governorates, the minister clarified that at least five retail points will be opened each year, providing a regular and accessible service to the population.

According to him, these retail points constitute a state intervention mechanism designed to strengthen social policy and preserve the purchasing power of Tunisians. The minister added that the ministry is also working to restore the usual livestock supply, thereby maintaining affordable prices for consumers.

Furthermore, the minister announced that last week the Ben Guerdane slaughterhouse, which had been closed for several years, was reopened. The facility now carries out slaughter operations that meet current regulations, a development regarded as a benefit for the inhabitants of Ben Guerdane and the Medenine governorate.
