Education Minister Announces New Measures for 2025/2026 School Year
The Minister of Education, Noureddine Nouri, stated to the TAP agency that the 2025/2026 school year will be accompanied by a series of new organizational and regulatory measures, maintenance work, renovation, and improvement of teaching conditions to enhance the quality of the educational process.
New Developments in the Education Sector
Nourredine Nouri added, while attending the school year opening in several educational institutions in the Ben Arous region, that the novelty of this year's school year lies in the completion of comprehensive or partial maintenance work, new installations, and preparatory classes in most schools. The work has been completed in many institutions and is ongoing in others at a sustained pace, emphasizing that this is a continuous national effort to develop infrastructure and improve the school process within educational institutions.
Key Initiatives for the New School Year
According to the Minister, this year's school year has also seen the generalization of the remote registration process at all levels of education. This process is accompanied by collaboration between the ministry and transportation companies, resulting in the implementation of a digital transfer system for registrations, to facilitate and accelerate the procedures for obtaining and assigning school transportation subscriptions.
Advancements in Preparatory Classes
Nouri indicated that the new school year has seen, for the first time, the advancement of the start date of preparatory classes to coincide with that of other classes, facilitating their integration into school spaces.
Addressing Concerns about Classroom Overcrowding
Regarding rumors about overcrowding in classrooms, the Minister explained that this issue was exaggerated, stating that "there is no unbearable overcrowding in classrooms or extra hours as reported." He recalled that the ministry adheres to the principle of the social state, which considers the teacher as the foundation of the educational process and the foundation of development in this country. He emphasized that any educational reform process relies on the educator and teacher, specifying that the ministry will spare no effort to support teachers and improve their material and practical conditions.
Commitment to Educational Excellence
The Minister's announcements highlight the government's commitment to enhancing the educational sector, with a focus on improving infrastructure, streamlining administrative processes, and supporting educators. These initiatives aim to provide a better learning environment for students and contribute to the country's overall development.
