Anti-Narcotics Brigade Foils Interregional Trafficking Attempt
On Saturday evening, the Nabeul regional anti-narcotics brigade conducted an operation that resulted in the interception of a large shipment of psychotropic pills, thwarting an interregional trafficking attempt. The merchandise, carefully concealed in a plastic box transported on a motorcycle from a central region of the country, was discovered on National Road No. 1 in Bou Argoub during the handover of the shipment by a driver involved in the trafficking of narcotics between governorates.
Key Outcomes of the Operation
- The operation led to the arrest of five individuals, aged between 30 and 50, and the seizure of a motorcycle and a rental vehicle used for transporting and delivering the merchandise.
- A sixth suspect, identified during the investigation, is the subject of a wanted notice and is being actively pursued by law enforcement.
Legal Proceedings
After consultation with the prosecutor's office near the Court of First Instance of Grombalia, the suspects were placed in custody for offenses related to narcotics legislation. The operation was carried out in coordination with the El Gorjani narcotics sub-directorate under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office.
