National Guard Spokesperson Denies Manipulated Statements
The National Guard spokesperson, Houssem Eddine Jebabli, denied on Friday morning the statements attributed to him and relayed on social media the previous evening, ensuring that they were a manipulation of his words.
During his appearance on Diwan FM, Jebabli recalled that the security campaign ordered by the President of the Republic and launched last October is still ongoing. According to him, this operation has allowed for the arrest of several major figures involved in the promotion and trafficking of narcotics, as well as a large number of individuals linked to these networks.
He specified that these actions are being carried out jointly by units of the National Guard and the National Police, under the aegis of the Ministry of the Interior, and aim to dismantle drug networks in a sustainable manner.
The previous day, publications circulating on social media had attributed statements to him claiming that "Tunisia had experienced an exceptional night marked by one of the most difficult and dangerous security operations against drug networks." These statements were categorically refuted by the spokesperson.
