Investigation into Young Man's Death in Kairouan
The substitute prosecutor of the Republic near the court of first instance of Kairouan and official spokesperson of the jurisdiction, Ahmed Kadri, indicated on Monday that the prosecution has ordered the opening of a judicial investigation to clarify the circumstances of the death of a young man from the Ali Bey neighborhood, in the city center of Kairouan.
Ongoing Investigations
In a statement to the TAP Agency, he specified that preliminary investigations are ongoing, pending the conclusions of the medical-legal report and the results of the technical expertise ordered by the investigating judge handling the case. He added that the prosecution had previously conducted an initial investigation following the victim's admission to the hospital on November 22, in a critical condition, after suffering serious injuries that required his placement in the intensive care unit.
Arrests and Legal Proceedings
Meanwhile, Kadri confirmed the arrest of several individuals following clashes with security forces during the nights of Friday and Saturday, specifying that legal procedures are underway against them. The prosecution is working to determine the circumstances surrounding the young man's death and to bring those responsible to justice.
