Tunisian Security Forces Dismantle Notorious Drug Trafficking Network

In a bid to combat the spread of drug trafficking networks among young people, the security units under the National Security District of Bab Bhar in Tunis have successfully dismantled a dangerous criminal network and arrested two individuals for drug trafficking.

The investigation began after a meticulous field survey conducted by the head of the National Security Post on Rue de Cologne and his agents, under the direct supervision of the head of the Bab Bhar district. The thorough investigations and constant surveillance of suspicious movements enabled the precise identification of the two suspects and the location of their hideout.

Following a total coordination with the Public Prosecutor's Office of the First Instance Tribunal of Tunis 1 and the obtaining of the necessary legal authorizations, the security units stormed the residence of the suspects in an apartment located in the Lafayette neighborhood. The operation resulted in their arrest.

A meticulous search of the premises allowed the agents to seize 25 pieces of cannabis ready for sale, as well as 21 capsules of highly concentrated cannabis resin.

After consulting with the Public Prosecutor's Office of Tunis 1, it was ordered to place the two individuals in custody and to open a judicial investigation against them for "possession and trafficking of narcotics," pending their appearance before the justice system.
