National Conference on Business Climate in Tunisia
The national conference on the business climate in Tunisia, organized by the Tunisian organization of the Confederation of Citizen Enterprises (Conect), under the supervision of the Ministry of Economy and Planning, and in partnership with the Konrad-Adenauer Foundation (KAS) and the MD Audit firm, begins today, Thursday, September 18, 2025, and will continue until tomorrow.
Regarding this, Dorra Miled, President of the Tunisian Hotel Federation, stated during her intervention on the "Expresso" show that the Tunisian hotel sector is a major driver of growth, while noting that strategic attention to this sector has decreased over the past decade.
Dorra Miled added that the tourism sector is once again considered a high-potential sector, but it faces several challenges, both locally and globally. She explained that the federation is working to improve training in the tourism sector to strengthen the quality of hotel services. Efforts are also underway to financially restructure the sector, with around 170 hotels currently closed.
Dorra Miled also emphasized the importance of diversifying the tourist offer, estimating that facilitating air transport and expanding flight opportunities would have a very positive impact on the development of Tunisian tourism. She finally pointed out the obstacles to investing in tourism and called for a joint dialogue between professionals, the state, and banks to provide the necessary financing and stimulate investment in this strategic sector.
