Success in the Fight Against Drug Trafficking and Consumption

As part of the efforts to combat drug trafficking and consumption, Tunisian security units have achieved significant successes in recent days.

Dismantling of International Criminal Network

The units of the Anti-Drug Directorate within the judicial police have dismantled an international criminal network specializing in drug smuggling and trafficking. Five members of the network were arrested, and the security forces seized:

  • 38 kg of cocaine
  • 475 plates of cannabis
  • 25,000 ecstasy tablets
  • A sum of 115,000 dinars

Arrests at Tunis-Carthage Airport

Meanwhile, the General Directorate of Border and Foreigner Police arrested three individuals at Tunis-Carthage Airport, originating from sub-Saharan African countries and arriving from an African country. Approximately 4 kg of cocaine were seized from their possession.

Dismantling of International Cannabis Trafficking Network

In the same context, the Central Brigade for Combating Drugs of the National Guard dismantled an international network active in cannabis trafficking, arresting two of its members and seizing 420 kg of narcotics.
