International Drug Trafficking Network Dismantled by Tunisian National Guard
The Tunisian National Guard has dismantled an international criminal network involved in drug trafficking between Tunisia and Libya, the General Directorate of the National Guard announced on Monday.
Operation Details
The operation, led by the Central Brigade for Combating Narcotics under the Investigation Sub-Directorate at El Aouina, in coordination with the Second Central Intelligence Brigade and the National Highway Patrol Brigade, is part of the efforts to combat organized crime and the spread of narcotics.
Arrests and Seizures
According to the same source, two individuals were arrested in Dar Fadhal, in the La Soukra delegation (Ariana governorate), while two other suspects have been identified and are currently being searched for. The raids resulted in the seizure of:
- 10 kilograms of raw cocaine classified in Table "B"
- Over 200 plates of cannabis (zatla) also classified in Table "B"
- A sum of 170,000 dinars suspected of coming from trafficking
- Four vehicles used in illicit activities
Legal Proceedings
On the instruction of the prosecutor's office near the Court of First Instance of Ariana, the necessary legal procedures have been initiated. Investigations are ongoing to identify the rest of the network members and trace the smuggling and distribution circuits related to this case.
