Economic Surveillance Agents Uncover Illegal Mineral‑Water Storage in Oued Ellil

On Tuesday evening, the Economic Surveillance officers of the Regional Administration of Trade and Export Development in Manouba discovered a clandestine depot used for storing mineral water in a district of the Oued Ellil delegation. The site belongs to a wholesale food‑product trader.
- Seized stock: More than 50,000 liters of bottled water in plastic containers of various sizes were confiscated, according to information supplied by the administration to the TAP Agency.
- Operation background: The raid followed a joint inspection carried out with the National Guard units of Oued Ellil after authorities received tips about the trader’s suspicious activity.
- Findings: Investigators determined that the merchant was using the premises as an unauthorised extra storage space for his goods.
All of the seized water was confiscated, and the trader has been prosecuted for operating an undeclared commercial premises. The authorities are continuing legal and administrative procedures in line with current legislation.
