Tunisian Foreign Minister Welcomes New Somali Ambassador
On May 6, 2026, at the Ministry's headquarters, Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti received Youssef Ahmed Hassan, who presented a copy of his Letters of Credence as the new Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Tunisia, with residence in Algeria.
On this occasion, the Minister emphasized the solidity of the fraternal relations between Tunisia and Somalia, highlighting the desire to consolidate existing cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the fields of higher education and vocational training, and to develop it to include other vital sectors.
He also reaffirmed Tunisia's solidarity with the Federal Republic of Somalia in its efforts to achieve sustainable security and stability on its territory, while expressing his rejection of any measure that would harm the unity and territorial integrity of Somalia, in accordance with the resolutions adopted successively by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Arab League, and the African Union.
For his part, the Somali Ambassador stated his determination to contribute to the development of fraternal relations between Tunisia and Somalia and to elevate them to the highest levels in the service of the interests of the two countries, expressing his country's recognition of Tunisia's positions supporting the unity, security, and preservation of Somali resources.
