Tunisian Foreign Minister Receives Saudi Ambassador in Farewell Visit
On Monday, May 25, 2026, Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti received Abdulaziz bin Ali Al-Saqr, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Tunisia, in a farewell visit marking the end of his mission in Tunisia.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the minister to express his appreciation for the depth of fraternal and historical ties between the Republic of Tunisia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In this regard, he reaffirmed Tunisia's constant commitment to pursuing joint work to elevate these relations to the highest levels, concretizing the sincere will of the leaders of the two countries to serve their common interests and respond to the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.
The minister also congratulated the development and qualitative achievements of bilateral cooperation, which has strengthened mutual rapprochement. He mentioned the visit made by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan to Tunis in September 2025, which confirmed the shared commitment to developing these relations and elevating them to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership, especially as the two brotherly countries celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations this year.
Furthermore, the minister expressed his appreciation for the commendable efforts made by the Saudi Ambassador throughout his mission at the head of his country's embassy in Tunis, which have contributed to consolidating the bonds of fraternity between the two peoples and strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields.
For his part, the Saudi Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the Tunisian authorities for the support and facilities he has enjoyed throughout his mandate in Tunisia. He reiterated, in this context, the determination of his country's leaders to tighten the bonds of fraternity and cooperation woven over the past seven decades, based on complementarity and solidarity, to serve their common interests and for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples.
