May 15, 2026

Health Minister Dr. Mustapha Ferjani conducted a field visit on Friday, May 15, 2026, to the Nabeul Governorate to closely monitor the progress of several critical healthcare projects. The inspection allowed for an update on the deployment of essential services, including emergency care, resuscitation, digitization, telemedicine, medical imaging, laboratories, and surgery across various localities in the region.

Takelsa Focuses on Digitization and Primary Care

At Takelsa, a new emergency unit has been set up within the intermediate center. This step is accompanied by a rigorous follow-up on the digitization of primary care, a modern process that now encompasses the entire patient journey, from initial registration to remote appointment scheduling, and digital medical records. The minister also inspected the compliance and safety of the cold chain necessary for the conservation of pharmaceutical products.

Technological Revolution and Telemedicine in Menzel Temime

Menzel Temime has reached a major technological milestone with the introduction of a high-performance tele-radiology system. The medical imaging service has been equipped with cutting-edge equipment of the latest generation, including a scanner, a mammography device, and a panoramic dental imaging unit. In parallel, remote specialty consultations are now operational for key disciplines such as dermatology, rheumatology, endocrinology, and retinal imaging, thus avoiding lengthy patient travel.

Nabeul Enhances Capabilities in Resuscitation and Emergency Services

At the governorate's capital, the Mohamed Taher Maamouri University Hospital has seen the official inauguration of a new medical resuscitation service. Equipped with a capacity of six beds, this unit is supported by a highly qualified medical and paramedical team and high-tech equipment. In addition, the minister examined the new arrangements of the emergency service at the Hédi Chaker Regional Hospital to optimize patient reception and care.

Grombalia Targets Laparoscopic Surgery

The modernization dynamic has also extended to Grombalia, where authorities have approved the launch of activities for the laparoscopic surgery unit. This initiative is part of an ongoing evaluation aimed at enhancing the quality of surgical services at the local hospital, enabling less invasive interventions and faster patient recovery.
