A Multidisciplinary Educational Guide for Counselors Presented at a Scientific Conference

A multidisciplinary educational guide for counselors was presented on Sunday at a scientific conference held at the El Menzah VI cultural and sports complex. This guide includes a set of guidelines and scientific recommendations related to the education and support of children from birth to adolescence.

Overview of the Guide

Supervised by family and education expert Brahim Riahi, this guide aims to strengthen and enrich the role of educational counselors so that their intervention is not limited to addressing certain pedagogical difficulties, but also extends to preventing young people from various risks and promoting a healthy educational climate.

Development of the Guide

In a statement to the TAP Agency, Riahi indicated that this guide is the result of a six-month training program followed by a group of educational counselors, supervised by specialists in psychology, sociology, education sciences, and child health. This training enabled them to acquire a set of scientific guidelines for balanced child education.

Importance of the Guide

Riahi emphasized that children are developing beings who require in-depth understanding and conscious scientific support, respecting their individuality and growth rate. Therefore, it is essential to strengthen the position of educational counselors as central actors in the educational system, whose role goes beyond simple advice to become a genuine link between scientific knowledge and field practice, between family and institution, between diagnosis and intervention, as well as between prevention and care.

Availability of the Guide

Riahi announced that free electronic and paper versions of this guide will soon be made available to a wide audience of education and teaching specialists, as well as parents, specifying that the richness and diversity of its content make it an important pedagogical reference.

Contributions to the Guide

Pediatrician Rahma Thabti indicated that she ensured, during the training, to provide participants with the main health recommendations related to promoting child health, from the pre-natal period to the importance of breastfeeding, to the prevention of chronic and infectious diseases.

Psychologist Mehrez Bouzayen specified that he focused his intervention on the psychological and cognitive development of children, according to a multidimensional approach based on various scientific methods. He added that the best practices in preventing risk behaviors in children, such as suicide, addiction, or violence, occupied an important place in the content of the training.
