Defects, technical flaws the troubles of European giant Airbus

End of 2025 Marks a Challenging Period for Airbus

The end of 2025 has not been quiet for European aircraft manufacturer Airbus, which has seen a series of setbacks over the past two months. The aerospace company was forced to ask all its clients to suspend flights on Airbus aircraft after the discovery of a faulty command software. The software's high vulnerability to solar radiation could have contributed to the distortion of essential data for commanding the aircraft.

As a result, the company had to carry out repairs and necessary changes on nearly 6,000 aircraft that were temporarily grounded due to the high probability of accidents that could occur on aircraft equipped with the software in question. This was particularly concerning after an Airbus aircraft operated by an American company narrowly avoided a catastrophe when it suddenly dove during a flight between Mexico and the USA in October.

This recall, one of the most significant in the company's history, caused disruptions to air traffic at several international airports, resulting in a decline in the company's stock price. It seems that problems never come alone, as the company broke its silence again last week to announce that a quality issue had been detected in the metal panels used on its successful A320 aircraft, which are manufactured by a subcontractor.

Following the discovery of this new defect, the European industrial giant had to inspect all aircraft equipped with these panels to carry out repairs or potentially replace them. This is another blow to the aerospace giant, which has once again seen its stock price plummet.

As it turns out, even as a giant in the aerospace industry with tens of thousands of Airbus aircraft flying around the world, one is never immune to errors and technical flaws.
