Tunisian Tourism Sector Loses One of Its Pioneers: Mohamed Laâmouri, Founder of Hasdrubal Chain, Passes Away
The Tunisian tourism industry is mourning the loss of one of its most iconic figures, Mohamed Laâmouri, founder of the prestigious Hasdrubal hotel chain. A legendary figure in Tunisian hospitality, he leaves behind a lasting legacy in the country's tourism landscape.
Hailing from a select group of Tunisia's first luxury hotel directors, Mohamed Laâmouri has inspired multiple generations of professionals. Before founding the renowned Hasdrubal chain, a benchmark for luxury hospitality in Tunisia - from Hammamet to Djerba, via Sousse - he managed several establishments with exemplary rigor and high standards.
A true mentor in the field, he guided dozens of collaborators in all aspects of hospitality: from management to reception, and from cuisine to other areas. Renowned for his discipline, he imposed high standards on his teams, in line with his vision of luxury and excellence. Always present on the ground, he inspected every detail, never letting any mistake slip by, while offering advice and affection.
Testimonies from his peers and collaborators - both executives and employees - all converge: Mohamed Laâmouri was an exceptional professional, a passionate and respected leader.
An enlightened art enthusiast, he also enriched his hotels with unique artworks collected with the late Ridha Laâmouri, a gallery owner. These one-of-a-kind pieces still testify to his refined taste and sensitivity today.
Though Mohamed Laâmouri may be gone, the fruits of his labor continue to shine through the Hasdrubal establishments and the memories he leaves in the hearts of those who worked alongside him.
His funeral will take place on Saturday, September 13th, at the Hammamet cemetery, following the El Asr prayer. May he rest in peace.
