Former Tunisian Ambassador Mondher Mami Passes Away
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad has announced the passing of former Ambassador Mondher Mami, who died on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at the age of 84. A prominent figure in Tunisian diplomacy, the late ambassador served as the Tunisian Ambassador to Prague from 1996 to 2001. He also held several diplomatic positions within Tunisian missions abroad, including the Tunisian Embassy in Vienna from 1978 to 1982, the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Tunisia to UNESCO from 1982 to 1985, and the Tunisian Embassy in Paris from 1987 to 1993. Mondher Mami also assumed various responsibilities within the central administration of the ministry. He contributed to the training of diplomatic personnel as a teacher at the International Diplomatic Academy of Tunis. Between 2012 and 2019, he served as an advisor to the Presidency of the Republic and Director General of Protocol at the Presidency of the Republic. Throughout his career, he was decorated with the first grade of the National Order of Merit in the diplomatic sector, as well as the fourth grade of the Order of the Republic. On this sad occasion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, Mohamed Ali Nafti, presented his sincere condolences and deep compassion to the family of the deceased, praying to God to welcome him in His mercy and grant him eternal rest.
