Tunisian Media Landscape and Television Lose a Pioneer

The Tunisian media landscape and television have lost one of their pioneers, the renowned director Mohamed Hadj Slimane, who passed away on Friday. The late director was one of the first filmmakers to accompany the launch of Tunisian television in 1966, alongside Abdelrazak Hammami and Salem Sayadi. Throughout his long career, he directed numerous programs and television variety shows with some of the biggest names in the industry, including the late Najib El Khattab, Hatem Ben Amara, and Hala Rokbi. Some of his most notable dramatic works include the series Ghada (1994), which featured the late Fathi Haddaoui and Moncef El Azâar. The funeral of Mohamed Hadj Slimane will take place on Saturday, after the mid-day prayer, at the Gammarth cemetery, located in the northern suburbs of Tunis.
