Two guided tours of one hour are scheduled for Friday, September 19 (3:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm). Four additional tours are planned for Saturday, September 20 (10:00 am - 11:00 am, 11:30 am - 12:30 pm, 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm, and 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm). A Place Steeped in History
Built at the end of the 18th century under the name of Borj El Monastiri, the residence was inhabited by Hussein Bey II and then by Mohammed Bey. Made available to the French consul Léon Roches in 1856, it was renamed Dar Kamila, "perfection". Successively becoming the residence of French consuls, residents general, and ambassadors, it remains a symbol of the shared history between Tunisia and France.
