Successful Operation Against Foreign Currency and Gold Smuggling
In the context of combating the smuggling of foreign currencies and precious metals (gold) out of Tunisian territory, the customs services at the Ras Jedir border post successfully foiled an attempt to clandestinely export $945,700, valued at over 2.8 million dinars, and 6 gold bars weighing a total of 14.6 kg.
These goods were carefully hidden in a car carrying two people who were preparing to leave the national territory.
