Director General of Customs Highlights Commitment to Implementing SINDA 2 System

The Director General of Customs, Mohamed Hédi Safir, emphasized his administration's commitment to progressing with the implementation of the SINDA 2 system. This system aims to facilitate customs procedures and bring services closer to economic operators and Tunisian citizens living abroad.

The administration is also working on an interconnection system between the administrations involved in customs procedures and all operators, including economic enterprises. During his participation in a roundtable discussion on the theme "An Administration for a Resilient Economy," held on the sidelines of the 39th edition of the Enterprise Days, he added that the implementation of this system is part of the application of the Ministry of Finance's work strategy and the government's program to digitize the administration.

The official also discussed the use of the risk management system, which includes selectivity and targeting techniques, with the goal of refining control operations and simplifying customs procedures. During this session, which was attended by the Minister of Communication Technologies, Sofien Hemissi, he also highlighted that the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) system represents a trust label granted to companies after they have met a set of conditions conforming to international standards, with the aim of encouraging investment and supporting exports.

This session provided an opportunity to discuss the main reforms necessary to stimulate investment in Tunisia, through a practical approach focused on digitizing the administration, improving the investment framework, and modernizing and simplifying customs procedures.
