From October 7 to 11, 2025, Tunisia Becomes the Global Hub for Commercial Transparency

The Corporate Registers Forum (CRF), the largest international association of business registers, will hold its annual event "CRF Tunisia 2025", with the primary objective of strengthening the fight against money laundering.

Martin Fidler Jones, Secretary General of the CRF, stated to the media that business registers worldwide face a fundamental dilemma: how to balance the requirement for transparency, the fight against illicit activities, and the protection of privacy. "Finding the right balance remains a constant challenge," he explained, recalling that the information held by each country is essential for effectively countering suspicious financial flows.

The Tunisian edition also highlights the contribution of modern technologies. When asked about artificial intelligence, Mr. Fidler Jones was optimistic: it constitutes, in his opinion, "a crucial lever" for detecting and anticipating suspicious transactions, thus strengthening the control capabilities of business registers worldwide.

The choice of Tunisia to host the forum is based on the quality of the country's application, described as "remarkable" by the Secretary General. Faithful to its itinerant strategy, the CRF moves its forum every year to countries with varied profiles, seeking to explore diverse national perspectives and "celebrate the diversity" of its members. This Tunisian edition is historic in two ways: it is the first time the forum is held in the Maghreb region and in a French-speaking country. Africa had already hosted the event in Uganda (2020, virtual format) and Botswana (2015).
