First Graduation of Municipal Guard Brigade Marks 69th Anniversary of National Guard Creation
The first batch of the Municipal Guard brigade was officially graduated on Friday, as part of the celebration of the 69th anniversary of the National Guard's creation. During a ceremony held at the National School of the National Guard in Bir Bouregba (Nabeul governorate), Interior Minister Khaled Nouri awarded diplomas to students of the 75th promotion of non-commissioned officers, including around a hundred corporals from this new brigade. The establishment of the Municipal Guard implements the decision of the President of the Republic to equip Tunisia with a specialized corps responsible for supporting the economic controllers of the Ministry of Trade, fighting against speculation and monopoly, and preserving food security. This brigade will also be tasked with controlling anarchic constructions and contributing to environmental protection. In his speech, the minister emphasized that this anniversary date is an opportunity to pay tribute to the sacrifices of the National Guard and to reaffirm the importance of this corps in defending the country's security and stability. He praised the complementarity between security and military forces and called on the new graduates to serve their country with seriousness, responsibility, and selflessness. "The security challenges our country is facing, in a changing regional and international context, require more vigilance and perseverance," he stated, adding that "protecting citizens and improving administrative services" remain at the heart of national security action.
