Production Halt at M'dhilla 1 Unit of Tunisian Chemical Group

Production came to a halt on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the M'dhilla 1 unit of the Tunisian Chemical Group (GCT), following a strike by workers and staff who were demanding their financial rights. According to Slim Amidet, Secretary General of the regional section of oil and chemistry in Gafsa, employees gathered in front of the regional management headquarters and the chemical complex, demanding the payment of the 2024 productivity bonus, as well as a salary increase.

The protesters also highlighted other social issues, including difficulties related to loans and health coverage.
