Government of Tunisia Announces Salary and Pension Revaluation

In the name of the President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, and on his instructions, the Head of Government, Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri, presided over a meeting of the Council of Ministers on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at the Government Palace in the Kasbah, to examine regulatory texts related to the revaluation of salaries and remuneration in the public and private sectors.

The Council examined eight draft decrees on the revaluation of salaries and remuneration, with four related to the public sector and four to the private sector.

This revaluation covers state agents, local authorities, public establishments with an administrative character, as well as public and private enterprises. It also extends to private sector companies and includes retirement pensions.

In opening the proceedings, the Head of Government stated that this meeting is part of a series of meetings held by the President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, to examine the modalities of application of the provisions of Article 15 of the Finance Law for the current year. This article concerns the revaluation of salaries, remuneration, and retirement pensions for the years 2026, 2027, and 2028.

She emphasized that this orientation is part of the framework for strengthening the social role of the State in various domains, supporting the purchasing power of Tunisian women and men, and guaranteeing a dignified life. She also highlighted the objectives of social justice and social stability through the establishment of a fair and adapted remuneration for all employees and retirees.

In closing the Council's proceedings, the Head of Government reaffirmed the continuation of the social policy of the Tunisian State, in accordance with the orientations of the President of the Republic, aimed at responding to the expectations of citizens and guaranteeing their legitimate rights to a dignified life.

She added that efforts will continue to overcome economic and social difficulties and legacies, as well as to implement a set of projects for the benefit of Tunisian women and men, in order to respond to their expectations and consecrate the principles of social justice and dignity.
