The head of the cosmetic and personal hygiene product control division at the National Risk Assessment Agency of the Ministry of Health, Zied Snoussi, has warned against the use of cosmetic products of unknown origin. During his appearance on the "Sabahna Tounsi" show on National Radio, Snoussi called for the purchase of beauty products through legal channels, such as pharmacies, specialized cosmetic stores, and large retail stores. The Ministry of Health official stated today, Monday, December 15, 2025, that certain cosmetic products can cause chronic allergies, particularly in the eyes. The division head recommended not buying "kohl" from uncontrolled markets, noting that the use of this product has caused the death of an infant in a neighboring country. The Ministry of Health had previously warned of the danger of cosmetic products intended for children, especially since many beauty products circulating in Tunisian markets contain hazardous chemicals. For her part, the General Director of the National Risk Assessment Agency of the Ministry of Health, Zohra Jamali, also warned against the acquisition of uncontrolled products and cosmetics.
