Corruption and Public Waste Saied Promises an Unrelenting Fight

Meeting Between the President of the Republic and the Head of Government

The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, received yesterday, December 9, 2025, at the Carthage Palace, Ms. Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri, Head of Government.

Discussion Points

This meeting covered several points, including the functioning of government action and that of many public services. The Head of State once again emphasized the need for perfect cohesion in government action, while also highlighting that many public services are not functioning as they should, and that their officials have not understood that Tunisia is living a new phase of its history, free from all corruption networks.

Fight Against Corruption

The President of the Republic specified that the State does not seek to mistreat anyone, but that the objective - indeed the duty - requires fighting against corruption and the waste of public money. He added that, paradoxically, those who have sown corruption now present themselves as victims, and that it is rare for a day to pass without masks falling one after another. He affirmed that today, we need - and the deadline is near - people who prioritize the country before their own interests, people who are honest and consistent, whose positions do not change even if they are offered all the treasures of the State, and who refuse any interference in the country's internal affairs.

The People's Approval

The President of the Republic also affirmed that the Tunisian people only need one certificate of approval: the one they give when all causes of exclusion and impoverishment are eliminated, as well as corruption networks, wherever they may be. And whoever does not learn from history will learn from the days to come.
