Community Companies: A Key Pillar of Tunisia's New Development
By Noureddine HLAOUI
Community companies, a cornerstone of the presidential project, continue to play a crucial role in the evolution of the new Tunisia, despite obstacles, as support and incentive measures have multiplied in favor of these enterprise initiators.
Positive Figures
The numbers are telling: as recently announced by the Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, the dynamics are in place and ready to succeed, with the creation of 230 companies, 60 of which are already operational.
Other significant and positive figures include the mobilization of 15,000 participants, including 2,400 higher education graduates, and the creation of 380 direct jobs. These companies exist throughout the country's regions, from south to north, although the governorate of Ariana is still lacking in this type of company.
Financing and Support
In terms of capital, the numbers are also impressive, with 88 companies having already received financing notifications for a total envelope of nearly 30 million dinars, as confirmed by the department's data.
Promising Horizons
The outlook is promising, with a program planning the creation of 400 new companies, as well as the training of specialized accompanists, the implementation of a suitable communication plan, and the publication of a guide for collective initiatives.
Government Support
The government seems more determined than ever to boost these companies, as reaffirmed by the Minister of Finance, who revealed a comprehensive program with financing lines to support community companies, which should benefit from significant sums of up to 35 million dinars, as well as a solidarity premium of two million dinars.
Reinforcing Measures
These new measures come in addition to the encouraging measures taken three weeks ago to consolidate these companies, including tax and financial benefits, such as a total exemption from taxes and duties for the next ten years, as well as the suspension of VAT for the same period and the granting of preferential rates on credits, with priority given to the leasing of state-owned agricultural land.
A Key Role in Economic Growth and Social Justice
Observers and experts are convinced that community companies are capable of playing a driving role in both economic growth and social justice.
